I have some unfinished business at Nhyieaso Constituency - Kennedy Kwesi Kankam on parliamentary bid
A Parliamentary aspirant, Mr. Kennedy Kwesi Kankam has announced his intention to run for the Nhyieaso constituency seat, citing unfinished projects as his primary motivation.
"There are some unfinished business at the Nhyieaso constituency that I have to go back and complete those projects and see how I can restrategize and also reposition Nhyieaso Constituency at where it's supposed to be," he stated during an interview with on Orange 107.9 FM in Kumasi.
Kennedy Kankam explained that during his time as a Member of Parliament, he lobbied for several projects, including the Sokoban road, a CHIPS Compound at Dakodwom, Adiebeba old town roads, Patasi old town roads, and the dualization of Nhyieaso inner ring road among others.
However, he was unable to complete these projects before leaving office, and they have since been abandoned and fallen into a deplorable state.
"Looking at where I left the constituency, and assessing how deplorable it has become now, it's very important that I go back to the constituency," he emphasized.
The former legislator mentioned that given the narrow margin between himself and his opponent four years ago, he is confident in his chances this time around.
He also noted that delegates will have the opportunity to compare his tenure with that of the current MP and deputy Trade and Industry Minister, Dr. Stephen Amoah, before making their decision during the primaries.
Kennedy Kankam the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Nhyiaeso constituency was defeated in June 2020 by the then Chief Executive of the Microfinance and Loans Centre (MASLOC), Stephen Amoah.
While Mr. Amoah polled 332 votes his opponent Kankam garnered 315 votes.
