Queen Drie makes history as first-ever winner of 'Afro Artist of the Year' at 312 Music Awards

Ghanaian sensation, Queen Drie stole the spotlight over the weekend at the Chicago's 312 Music Awards by not only winning the coveted "Afro Artist of the Year" award but also etching her name in the annals of history as the first-ever recipient of this prestigious award.

During her acceptance speech, Queen Drie expressed her gratitude to the organizers for

the introduction of this category… the city is so much bigger than what we think it is. And

also for recognizing us and afrobeats and for afrobeats as a genre to make it up here

means a lot. We're grateful and shoutouts to everyone who got nominated in the category… we're all winners," she remarked.
